I am astonished these days.
Universities are setting themselves up to eagerly adjudicate charges of sexual assault which by rights and logic should be considered criminal charges to be handled in the courts. (If you work for Macy’s and you think someone has sexually assaulted you, would you take your complaint to the CEO of Macy’s, or to the police?)
Yet at the same time universities seem increasingly less interested in adjudicating, and when necessary punishing (by withholding degrees), charges of academic dishonesty, which fall squarely in their bailiwick since graduation is supposed to attest to a certain level of proficiency.
